What "research grade" means for a peptide
"Research grade" describes a laboratory material's commercial framework: it is supplied with a batch certificate of analysis and is not intended for human or veterinary use. It is not an official category under the Colombian sanitary-registration decree, nor a synonym for a drug. A buying laboratory checks identity, batch and issuer on the certificate; it does not read that label as authorization for use in people or animals.
It is not a sanitary registration
Decreto 677 de 1995 governs the regime of sanitary registrations and licenses for drugs, cosmetics and other household-use products in Colombia. The sanitary registration is the public document that authorizes producing, marketing or importing those products. The references in this catalog are offered as inputs for research and laboratory work: the site states they are not intended for human or veterinary use.
That is why "research grade" should not be read as a seal that Invima grants to a peptide. It is a statement from the supplier about the material's intended purpose: testing, calibration, analytical development or laboratory research, not marketing as a drug.
What the material does have to carry
What makes a reference a useful input for a laboratory is not the adjective on the label, but the batch's documentation. A certificate of analysis identifies the batch, the test method and the issuing laboratory. Without those three fields, the document provides no traceability.
